Monopoly ticket..........

I am having a VERY lucky week.  At the beginning of the week I found two arrowheads on a property we own and today while walking into BJ's I saw a used Monopoly scratch off ticket laying in the street.  I don't normally pick those up but today I did and it was a winner worth $5.  It had been run over a million times but the store still accepted it.  Yay.  I also bought a cute new scarf at the Salvation Army for only $3.

Found a dime this morning during our walk.  Also saw a policeman give out a speeding ticket.

HP Laptop...........

I really scored on a new laptop the other day.  BJ's had a fully loaded laptop and the sign said $320.  I took the ticket to the front and they couldn't find any of the laptops and kept saying that the floor model was that price.  After they searched and investigated some more, they finally found the laptops in a box and agreed to give me a new one for that price but were going to mark the rest of them up $120 more because they had made a mistake.  SCORE :)

Publix BOGO........

I went to Publix the other day and hit a great sale on a bunch of BOGO's.  I have to admit that I probably would not have purchased these items on a regular shopping trip but I did and here is what I got.

Then I got some grape tomato's on sale.

So my total savings was $ 23.67

Also used a Creamer coupon at Walmart and saved .75.

Total savings overall $24.42

Found this penny in the front yard of the guest house today.

Pennies from Heaven.................

I find pennies.......I don't know why, but ever since I was a kid I have been finding mostly pennies on the ground on a weekly basis.  It has been a more frequent occurance, so I have decided to start logging the dates and types of coins I find so I can keep track.  So far this year alone I have found several.  One of the most significant coins I have ever found was in the most unusual place.  We were in Talula Falls, GA for a few days a number of years ago and we were leaving and heading North.  It was really early in the morning and there wasn't much traffic yet and we were getting ready to merge onto the interstate.  We saw a tiny box turtle trying to cross the interstate and I got out to move the turtle to the side of the road so it wouldn't get hit by a car.  The turtle wasn't much bigger than the palm of my hand.  I reached down to pick up the turtle and right beside the turtle was a silver dollar.  What a strange place to find a silver dollar, in the middle of the interstate while saving a turtle.  I recently heard a story about a woman who found a puppy in the woods and found a quarter at the same time.  She said she wondered if God was paying her for rescuing the puppy.  Another woman told her that if you find a coin while helping an animal, it means that animal was reincarnated and has an "Old soul".  I tried to look that up on the internet and found no information about that belief but it is weird how I found that silver dollar while helping the turtle.  I still have the silver dollar.

Target coupons...........

Yay, I did it again.  Getting better at this.  Target sent me a whole bunch of coupons that were easier to use.  They were for money off different things but not a specific brand.  I didn't buy anything I wouldn't normally use and I would also buy a smaller amount in order to get the item almost free.  Plus, Yoplait had sent me a coupon for a free yogurt and I got the Key Lime flavor because that is my favorite.  I saved a total of $12.28 today at Target :)

Finally saved some more.......

I have not been good about using coupons for a while.  Too much going on with our projects to look for the coupons online.  However yesterday I made some progress when I went to BJ's and Lowe's.  I saved a total of $22.49 at BJ's and $8.99 at Lowe's. 

That made me feel a whole lot better and more interested in continuing with this experiment.
